Before starting my Journey in Macao, we'd better check out its 'profile' first.
Macao is located in Asia, along the southeast coast of mainland China in the Guangdong Province. Tiny Macao also well known for its casinos. Macao is actually a special administrative 'region' of China, that's why It doesn't have any capital city.
In the 16th century, it's colonized by the Portuguese. What language is available in Macao? The answer is : Canton dominantly (广东话!) So... your Mandarin maybe useless in here, but don't be sad, there might be some who are able to speak Mandarin (just keep praying to find them..hehe).
Macao has its own currency known as Pataca (MOP). Okay, that's enough..

Let's go to Macao............!
On 2010 December 25th, I had my little Christmas in a place called Macao (澳ao门men). That day the weather wasn't really friendly, it's cloudy Y_Y ..
I was accompanied by my seniors. We went there by our school bus (it's cheaper than a normal bus to Macao). At 8 a.m we started our journey from Guangzhou. About 10 a.m we'd already got there, Macao.
Our first destination in Macao was The Venetian Hotel (This is the most famous hotel in Macao). The hotel is far enough from the immigration office, so we took a shuttle bus to get there (it's free).
The Venetian Hotel
One of cool hotels in Macao.., the tourists were attracted by its cool architecture, facilities, also the casino. In this hotel we can feel as if we were really in Venetian.. there's also a place where we can ride a gondola. During the gondola trip, we can see the beautiful replica of Venetian's houses and canals... A friend of mine told me that there had been a shooting of a famous Korean TV serial (BBF) in this hotel. There's also a mall in the hotel, so that the tourist can easily shop in the hotel. As I went on the Christmas day, there were some special performances performed. Certainly, every performers wore a Christmas costume. There's also a big & tall Christmas tree near the casino.. So many tourists took picture there.. The casino was so crowded, a large number of people played there, not only young men but also the aged played in the casino (you might be find your grandpa or your grandma there..hehe ;p).
Don't you feel so hungry now? okay let's go to the Venetian's foodcourt.
In the venetian foodcourt there are many kinds of restaurant, Japanese, Portuguese, western, Chinese, Korean, etc. I had decided to have my lunch at a Portuguese restaurant. It's only about 75 Pataca for a glass of cola and the main food (it's so delicious!), while one of my senior had a plate of Korean fried noodle for her lunch. After finishing our lunch, we continued our visits in the beautiful of venetian hotel, Macao. There's a luxurious hall near one of the hotel's lobby. it's dominantly filled in golden. We were hypnotized by the beautiful of Italian ceiling style. The elegant lighting made the hall more perfect..
Time ran so fast, it had already 6 p.m. we decided to go back to the immigration office (it's not in order to go back to Guangzhou, but continued our journey in Macao.. ^^).
We then got another shuttle bus which is able to bring us to the other cool Hotels in Macao.
Wynn Hotel
In this hotel, we saw a beautiful fountain attraction. The fountain showed us its most beautiful dance as the music played. The attraction will be shown every 15-20 minutes.
This hotel provides a casino, shops, restaurant, etc.
Grand Lisboa Hotel
Grand Lisboa, it's located near Wynn Hotel. It has a unique of building shape, it's also equipped with some high-tech things. The hotel's really showing off its modern style.
It's already about 8 p.m. and it's getting cold, because it started raining. Fortunately, we'd brought our own umbrella, so.. we could continue our journey..hehe (even I felt so tired). The Next destination of our journey is the famous ruins of St. Paul's church, which is also counted as one of UNESCO's World Heritage monuments. We took some photographs there.
After that, we had our dinner in a small restaurants.. Then, we strolled down in a place well known as Senado square.. In this place we can find many shops sell snacks, t-shirts, Macao souvenir, etc.
We ended our journey in this place, Senado square. The next day (2010 December 26th), we went back to Guangzhou and had a comfortable rest in our sweet (read : terrify.. ;p) dorm..
I have a plan to go back to Macao...., What about you? :)
