Dinagyang Festival

Hala Bira Iloilo! which means be 'wild' iloilo!
This words will be heard during the Dinagyang festival in Iloilo city, Philippines.  Dinagyang Festival is being held to honor St. Nino (statue of the Child Jesus).  The Festival will be held every January (in the last week of January).  There'll be dance competition during this festival.  The ilonggo people will start to party since 2 days before the Festival day, there'll be foods festival also! So, make sure that you won't miss it!

On Dinagyang Festival, A great number of people will come to the main streets and room around there. There're also so many 'tribes' will compete to get the 1st place of the dance competition. it'll be so crowded on the Festival day!  The 'tribes' will dance in 3 points.  The first point's the start point, which is the first judging will be given.  After that, they will go to the second judging place. Then, the last point is  iloilo sport complex.  The tribes are dancing while they're going from the 1st point to the other points.  If you wanna see the street dance, just come out earlier, make sure that you get your best ‘spot’! and don't forget to 'recharge' your energy first, because it really needs a lot of energy.  If you just wanna see the main dance just choose one of the three points, but it needs ticket.

If you wanna experience this Festival, just go to iloilo in January and book the hotel you'll be stayed in earlier, because the hotels in iloilo will be fully booked during this Dinagyang Festival! So.. have your own Dinagyang festival experience in iloilo! Hala Bira Iloilo! :)
